THE CREW

George Brokaw

In 1972 George Brokaw retired as a Superintendent of Schools education field and began a second career as a yacht broker. A Chief Bosun Mate on a Fleet Tug in the Navy, boat builder, lifelong sailor, and waterman, George quickly established “Brokaw Yacht Sales” as a first-rate company serving San Diego’s yachting and boating community.

George found a great location at 2608 Shelter Island Drive, nestled in the heart of San Diego’s rich yachting history. The company grew in reputation and success, and in 1978, George’s son, Bob, joined the family business, working and learning alongside his father.

Bob grew up with a main sheet in one hand and the tiller of his dad’s boat in the other. Building on his Dad's experience and having gone through San Diego Yacht Club's Junior Racing Program at 13 years, Bob has amassed over 30,000 Ocean Miles in power and sailboats of all kinds.  Bob brought all of his talents to the company. Together, the two men compiled a long list of hundreds of satisfied customers.

They continued together through the 1980s, 1990s, and into 2000, when George retired, leaving the company in Bob’s trusted hands. Bob continued to grow the company, amassing upwards of 2400 career sales in 22 states and 10 countries. Today, Brokaw Yacht Sales continues its success with an eye to future growth, expanded services, and even higher customer service levels.

So, whether you are considering selling or purchasing a boat, upgrading or downsizing, you can rest assured that, at Brokaw Yachts, you will receive the highest level of customer service, information, and attention to detail available anywhere. Experience produces results. Give us a call and experience the difference.
